Crazy weather!

Has this ever been crazy weather! I have never seen anything like this in all the years I have lived in Washington, DC. We spent Thursday and Friday last week frantically rescheduling Saturday's outdoor events and weddings! What a scramble to find dry ground for all the brides. The corporate events all required reschedules to another date with all vendors having to be contacted -from the caterers, to the music to the tenting and so on. For one big outdoor event, we were going to put a tent on the tennis courts-but the client called Thursday night and said "my courts are flooded!"  Hmmm...I think we could  have gotten creative with all that water..... :)..but anyway-thanks to the amazing DEG team who got everything done in record time and kept everyone safe!  Looking foward to our great events next week-from Casinos to Oktoberfests!

Corporate picnic-casual and fun!

Our clients go to put on their shorts-no ties or suits allowed-enjoy a cold beer and great food-and party to the amazing sounds of the KGB Band!  It is so great to get a chance to see everyone  relaxing. Thanks to the DEG Team for another great event.  This is such a fun band and they definitely MADE made the event. Great music is always the key to your guests having the most fun at any event!

Rootop Event

A beautiful corporate rooftop event was pulled off flawlessly by the DEG Team! In 102 degree weather, we put together a tented area, a gazebo area and a little relaxing loung area with plants and soft lighting-great food and drink!

The Royal Wedding-a new look!

So everyone is all a-flutter about the "look" of the Royal Wedding. The brides dress.....a simple, yet elegant dress-with sleeves! I thought it was wonderful to see lace sleeves. Very feminine!..and now it seems that American brides are re-thinking the taboo of anyone else in the bridal party wearing white. Apparently, according to a national morning news program, many in the USA thought the Maid of Honor and all the little flowers girls in white gave the wedding a very crisp look.  We will see how this all plays out. All in all a very lovely wedding!

Getting what you paid for!

I was listening to GMA (good Morning America) as  I was getting ready for work this morning. They ran a story about a bride and groom who hired a videographer to shoot their wedding. What they got was really a bunch of nothing! They got big blank spaces, shots of the grass and a little bit of the bridal party walking towards the camera....in short-a lot of nothing. It was just awful. Hire a professional! They paid $500.00 to this guy. $500.00 for a video of your wedding,  plus editing? If it seems to cheap to be true-it probably is!
Especially when it is a one shot deal like the most important day of your life! Choose a professional with a track record-whatever vendor you are using. Check out this link to our website page, "Why You  Should Use a Professional Agency"!       http://www.jandavis.com/professional_agency.html

(this is not the bride and groom that had the bad experience-I just love this picture!)

Jan Davis receives the Minority Business Enterprise Award

What an honor it was to received the MBE Award! The ceremony was at UMUC and was very well attended. One never expects to be recognized for their hard work when they own their own business, so this was a real surprise and a real treat.

Mardi Gras

All of our events this month are Mardi Gras. We love Mardi Gras and we do it so well!!!!!
Mardi Gras is special to me because my father grew up in Louisana, so I was raised celebrating Fat Tuesday with Zydeoc music and King Cake.  The real Mardi Gras is March 8 this year, but we have started partying early with our clients! Lots of fun!  Call now if you want celebrate too! 703-461-7253!
